  PM Justrite Open.JPG - PICKANDS MATHER SAFETY AWARD JUSTRITE LAMP - Horizontal Justrite lamp in nickel-plated brass with a 2 1/4 in. reflector,  turned under lever feed water control, and flat hook; with 7/8 in. dia. Pickands Mather and Co. plaque attached to right side and marked PMCo SAFETY FIRST 1918 in red, white, blue and silverlettering, left side marked with JUSTRITE and three patent dates of 1901, 1912, and 1913 with others pending; mint condition, ex-Dave Johnson collection (By the 1920s, the Pickands Mather Co. was the second-largest iron mining company in the United States. This lamp was awarded to Pickands Mather miners with a 5 year employment history of accident free work. It is thought this lamp was a special order from Pickands Mather to Justrite.  The basic lamp configuration was not available to the public and is only known with the PM plaque.)
